Artist Statement

My jewelry is a combination of precious and non-precious materials, exploring form, structure, and balance. My work takes it’s inspiration from a diverse assortment of influences; the natural environment, architecture, fashion, music, and solitude. All of which provide infinite potential for creativity. These influences have culminated in what can only be described as an eclectic collection of jewelry. Visually and structurally I strive to achieve rhythm by the simplest means, creating ornaments that compliment the body.

My designs emerge through material exploration and experimentation. Made by manual processes, sawing, filing, shaping, and coaxing, these low-tech processes keep me in physical contact with my materials, an important element of my play. Jewelry as art is open to interpretation; the objects are imparted with meaning and value through the wearer’s attachment and association. By becoming part of the wearer’s experience and personal expression my work is transformed and completed.
